U is for Unashamed

Succeed always has a starting point. When it comes to eating healthy, losing weight, or exercising, some of us may start multiple times! Of course it is best to keep a healthy lifestyle for the rest of our lives, but the message for today is this: whether it’s the first time you start or the hundredth time you start, don’t be ashamed!

It is never a bad thing to try again. What’s bad is giving up because we failed. I’m sure that even the most consistent eaters and exercisers at some point have failed to follow through. Those who can claim victory in maintaining their healthy lifestyle could probably write a book about how many times they didn’t do so well before they found their own recipe for success.

There have been times in my life when I have been thinner than I am now, but still I am not ashamed of what I am today because I am continuing to try. Fortunately for me, I have found success, and slowly the weight from my last pregnancy is dropping off. I can’t deny that sometimes I am a little shy to see someone I haven’t seen for awhile because I know I’m heavier than the last time they saw me…but I am not ashamed. I am working toward a goal. I am succeeding. Even when I have a rough day or two, I refocus and try again. There is no shame in trying, only a possibility of success.

  1. Amen! As the Apostle Paul said, it is the pressing for the mark or goal that makes us successful. We can then be confident and comfortable in our own skin. Soon, our joyful, loving manner will overcome any first impression of a few extra pounds on our frame!
